Just had to share this exciting new for me. I am really excited about it, just because I do like a challenge and this one will be a challenge for sure. This really isn't my type of fabric, but I am working on it and I think I can make something pretty out of it!. So stay tuned, and we will see what happens I have to have it ready by the 30th of this month so I better get stitching!. Actually I do have have cutting and stitching done already!

Meet the November Challenger for Desire to Inspire, Carol Steffensen. 

Carol hails from Minnesota and is a great example of not giving up! She has tried and tried to enter into the challenge, and was almost ready to give up when this month it happened...and we picked her! 

And not that we do this on purpose... but Carol also has a blog called Chickadee Hollow Designs. 

She received the fabrics last Wednesday and has gotten right to work. This palette is totally new for her, so she is super excited to step outside her usual zone to make something great for this month's challenge.

Hey everybody,I hope you are all having a beautiful day today, the weather is perfect here today. Just wanted to check in and say Hi, I have been a little scarce lately, but things are finally starting to settle down a bit so I can get back to business. My daughter who has cancer is finally showing some improvement, the cancer is still present but the Immunotherapy that she is receiving seems to have stopped the progression. She is unable to do chemo or radiation anymore because it brought her white count down to 3500, but her last appt. it was back up to 4100, so that is better. My grandson who had a 4 wheeler accident a month ago, is able to use a walker now without putting pressure on his broken leg and they have removed the cast from his arm and just has a splint, so he can get around a little bit by himself. My granddaughter graduated in May and we had her reception at our house last weekend, so that was a bit of work for me and my faithful assistants.It was about 20 years since I pulled something like that together, so it was almost like a new experience, but it went well and everything is back in place and I can finally get back to designing. Thanks everybody for the kindness, prayers, support and just for being there for me. It meant so much to know that my community of quilters and stitchers always have your back! You are all the best!❤️

Springtime Stitch Along Update!

This is a picture of a couple of rows I have sewn together from out Springtime Stitch Along, as you can see there is no real setting for the blocks, they are all different sizes, so because it is a Crazy Quilt, I add strips or a pieced quilt block, to fill in to make the rows come out to the same length. It is totally ad lib and now I will sandwich it and then I plan to hand stitch it and embellish it as I choose to. I plan to use Perks Cotton # 12 to do the hand stitching, and I will use several colors. It doesn't look like much yet but it will! So for those of you asking for a setting, sorry it is totally your call. Make it fun!. You can even add some Vintage embroidery to your quilt if you choose. It's a Crazy Quilt. Oh and this is half of the first two rows, I have the other half folded under it. I am also going to quilt it as I go, I plan on 8 rows of blocks, not sure if I will add borders or not at this point. I will keep you updated with pictures!
