We Are Back, Finally!

We have pretty much settled into our new studio and home. I have a little bit left to unpack, but I am eager to get started on something fun.It has been a long 14 months since our fire, and even though I had a lot of time to think, I wasn't able to accomplish a lot. There just wasn't room and not a lot of time. Designing a home, shopping for furnishing and building supplies, making a inventory of our previous home and dealing with the insurance company, pretty much took all of my time. But, I am willing to put all of that behind me and start fresh, as there is no point in dwelling on the facts. I was lucky enough to have seven pieces of my quilting out on a trunk show at the time of the fire, so that was all I salvaged. So, I need to make some new samples. I have a plan for the first sample that I am going to re-do and I will tell you about it in a minute.
But first of all I feel like I need to say these things, thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of you who have given me fabric, scraps, quilting supplies, books, etc. It was definitely enough to get me started again. I am very grateful to all of you. To those of you who were in BOM's that w had to discontinue, (because we lost all of our supplies), we will work toward restoring what you have missed, however, I can not make any promises as to time, etc. For those of you who had your orders lost or burned in the fire, we hope that we have replaced or refunded anything that you did not receive. Most recently with being closed, to make the move, we hope that you can understand any delays, mistakes etc. We lost a large bunch (in the thousands) of emails that we had in different files etc that we were saving for various reasons. Your email may have been one that we did not respond to, because it was lost. Coincidentally, our email service made a switch over to a new system right about the time we were moving into our new building, and we lost many email files that we were never able to recover.. To say these past 14 months have been a challenge is an understatement, but I ask for no sympathy. It is what it was! Notice the past tense. It is over and I am on to my new life. I thank God for our lives  and our new home, and a chance to start over.To my faithful customers,
you have remained true and been very supportive. You are the best! OK, so here is a little blurb about the first thing I am going to do and I have decided to ask any of you who might be interested to join me on this short journey. One of the quilts that I lost in the fire was one of my favorites, and it is the one that reminds me most of Spring. It is also a interesting technique that some of you may be interested in. It is called "Sunshine & Stars." The technique for this one is called "pot holder quilting." Here is a picture of it:

Happy Stitching! Carol
